AC Milan are making progress in talks over a deal for Lille midfielder Renato Sanches, according to the latest reports.
Despite the fact that there is a very close and tense Scudetto fight and the sale of the club currently dominating the headlines, there is also work being done ahead of the summer transfer market to ensure that the squad takes a step forward and becomes even more competition.
MilanNews reports how the name of Renato Sanches has been linked with Milan for several months and he is the number one target to replace Franck Kessie. He would come in and take the Ivorian’s spot numerically but also to give Stefano Pioli a player of the highest technical level.
There is already an agreement in place with Lille over the transfer fee involved while there is still a distance to bridge regarding the salary that the player will earn, but the Rossoneri management are talking about it with agent Jorge Mendes and are feeling ‘more and more optimism’.
