Report: Milan among teams interested in young Estoril Praia forward

By Oliver Fisher -

A new name for AC Milan’s attack has emerged as Gilson Benchimol Tavares of Estoril Praia has been linked with a potential move.

According to Transferzone – who cite their own sources close to the Portuguese club – Gilson Benchimol Tavares is attracting the interest of a number of top clubs in Serie A such as Milan, Inter and Napoli. He was previously linked with a move to Sporting CP, Juventus, Nice and Monaco.

The 20-year-old striker (who will turn 21 in December) only has two appearances with the first team, but he does have an impressive record with the Under 23 side with 7 goals scored in 16 appearances.

His contract expires in June 2024 which means that Estoril are in a good position to demand a figure that they deem fitting for a centre-forward who obviously has a bright future ahead of him. He also has a Portuguese passport, so a move to Italy would not take up a slot for non-EU citizens.
