GdS: Milan reignite interest in creative midfielder Udinese now value at €25m

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have once again been tipped to make a move for Udinese’s star creative midfielder Lazar Samardzic after previous links.

Milan’s interest in signing the then-18-year-old was reported during the summer of 2020 by a number of different sources when he was at Hertha Berlin, but in September of that year Samardžić joined fellow Bundesliga side RB Leipzig on a five-year deal.

After making his debut a month later, he found himself struggling for playing time once again, making just seven appearances for them before signing a five-year deal with Udinese in summer 2021. He has four goals and an assist in Serie A so far this season.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via RomaPress), the exploits of the 20-year-old have caught the attention of several clubs as Roma have made an inquiry about the player’s availability ahead of next summer.

However, Udinese have set an asking price of €25m for the time being, with Napoli and Milan both also coming forward to register their interest in the young playmaker.
