Il Tempo: Milan looking to negotiate €4.5m fee and sign defender permanently

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are trying to reduce the fee that they would have to pay to sign Alessandro Florenzi on a free transfer, according to a report.

According to Il Tempo (via SempreMilan.it), the Rossoneri management have shown a desire to keep Florenzi and to acquire him outright they would have to pay €4.5m as per the terms of the agreement reached last summer.

Directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are trying to reduce that amount however by leveraging the player’s willingness to stay with Milan plus the fact that he was not a key part of the plans at Roma.

His permanent stay does not seem to be in question either way, but if it were possible to lower the price – as they tried to do with Chelsea for Fikayo Tomori – the negotiation would undoubtedly be faster.

It is nothing more than a normal conversation between the clubs, with Roma’s Tiago Pinto looking to collect the most possible, while Milan want to spend less. Florenzi’s stay seems certain regardless, however.
