Repubblica: Milan shopping for a new striker – Atalanta and Eintracht Frankfurt duo on the list

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan management want to give Stefano Pioli a new striker to work with and they are targeting Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund ahead of the summer, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of La Repubblica (via MilanNews) writes that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are planning to give Pioli striker regardless of Oliver Giroud’s future, given that the Frenchman is 36 years of age and Zlatan Ibrahimovic is in his 40s and could retire.

One of the players on the list is Randal Kolo Muani of Eintracht Frankfurt but his asking price could be high, so Maldini and Massara are also thinking about Rasmus Hojlund, the 19-year-old who he is showing good things with Atalanta and was actually targeted by the Rossoneri in the summer.

At the moment he is not considered up for sale, but La Dea could change their mind if they were to receive a big offer given they spent €17m to sign him. The teenager has three goals and one assist in 13 Serie A appearances this season.

  1. They paid 17 mil for him, meaning Milan has no chance to buy him. And I don’t think we need atacker who will make no impact imidietly. They could have Beloti for free exporoenced Seria A player. They were waiting for Sanchez and missed Enzo… Kessoe left no replacement, no real RW for years, same stori about attackers every transver window, no AMC (CDK Is young needs time, we need someone now). And I said in the summer this team is weaker than last year’s team. No depth no added quality.

    1. Its crazy eh. We brought origi instead of Belotti. We could have had Dybala for free and we could have got ziyech on loan.
That would have given us a very competitive first 11 and allow youngsters more time to develop.

Lets not mention how Kerkez left because we signed Ballo Toure and he was given no opportunity. Now he is valued at 20m!

This club and its fans are being let down.

When you win your first title in 10 years you build on that! What a wasted chance.

Honestly if i was Theo, Leao, Bennacer id be leaving in summer. They bought into a project that has been derailed and they are in their prime.

I predict we get smashed by Tottenham and miss out on top 4

  2. Problem is, Milan are crap NOW, and getting worse week on week. This is what happens when you build your transfer market around freebies, loans, under-18s and ageing crocks. The management can spend some money this transfer window, or they can consign Milan to a disastrous second half of the season.

  3. Let’s not make any business with Atalanta, they make life difficult for us. Bring back Colombo instead of investing in another unheard talent.
