AC Milan are one of several top European clubs following the progress of young American winger Cade Cowell, according to a report.

Cowell joined the San Jose Earthquakes academy in 2018 and was loaned out to their USL Championship affiliate club Reno 1868 the same year, scoring on his debut. His San Jose debut came in June 2019 and his first MLS start was against the LA Galaxy the following year.

According to a report from Calciomercato.com, several big European big clubs are keen on signing the 19-year-old after a season in which he amassed six goal contributions (three goals, three assists) in 31 MLS games.

As per the source, Milan, Juventus, Newcastle United and Bayern Munich are on his trail. Cowell has already made his debut for the senior US men’s national team, playing twice for them so far after playing from the U16 national team, the U17s and the U20s.

  1. He’s not a finished product, but he has the talent to play at this level. Hard worker who runs a lot, has pace and creativity, cuts in from the left with a good right foot. Would be another good young player in the squad if he can be had for a reasonable fee from MLS.
