Some good news has arrived in view of AC Milan’s next league game against Pisa on Friday regarding Christopher Nkunku.

Milan welcome Pisa to San Siro in just over 48 hours and while it might not be a blockbuster on paper, it is potentially a very important night for Massimiliano Allegri’s side. Why? They can temporarily go four points clear at the top, putting the pressure on ahead of other games like Napoli-Inter.

The problem is that Milan are battling an injury crisis at present. They only had seven players on the bench for the win over Fiorentina on Sunday, with Nkunku, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic, Adrien Rabiot, Pervis Estupinan and Ardon Jashari all sidelined.

Nkunku boost

MilanNews reports good news from Wednesday’s session: Nkunku has returned to training with the rest of the Rossoneri squad and is therefore fit to play a part in Friday night’s match against Pisa at San Siro.

The French forward missed the most recent league match against Fiorentina due to a foot injury sustained while playing for the national team. More specifically, it was believed to be a toe problem.

Loftus-Cheek, however, did not train with the rest of his team-mates, continuing his personal training program today. The English midfielder is struggling with a muscle strain and his recovery for Friday’s match against Pisa appears very complicated.

  1. If Nkunku is available. We should start Gimenez and Leao then Nkunku comes in for either depending on scoreline and or eithers’ performance

    1. Hopefully we are ahead and we can sub Rafa. I wasnt sure he was ready for 90 mins last time, let alone 2 full 90 min games in a row.

  2. I’ve always appreciated RLC’s ability, but his injury history is absolutely dismal and I think we should call time on his Milan career next summer. We just can’t have a player who is out half the season taking up a place in the squad. Ricci and Jashari (once healthy) need to play more than he does so they can keep developing. It does not make sense to spend any more time and money on RLC. Unfortunately, RLC is exactly the type of player Allegri likes, so assuming he’s fit he will probably always get the nob before Ricci and Jashari. My hope is that Tare in his position as DS will take initiative and move RLC on.

    1. It’s been the story of his career. Every time he’s in form or playing in a system that suits him bam! Nagging injuries keep him in and out. It’s a shame because when he’s on his day he really can play like a world class mid. I don’t dislike him but he’s not a reliable player unfortunately.

  3. Start the RLC matches missed ticker now……2 and counting.

If he plays more than 22-23 times this year I’ll be surprised.

  4. We are so overdue on moving on from RLC… He is either unavailable or makes little impact when he does come on. What’s his purpose?

  5. sell RLC, he got injury even when he’s not play & when he’s play is nothing special/ never fit 100%, his contibution isn’t match his salary

    1. maybe Bondo can grow into a similar role, but he’s a more of a CDM…

also we have Comotto but he’s more of a Modric profile and he was used in that role specifically during the preseason

most likely we would need to bring in someone if he leaves

  6. Where’s the guy that was arguing with me in the summer about RLC saying I was “negative” because I used common sense when looking at his injury history and predicting he’ll more than likely to have an injury this season?? 🤔 Hmmm lol I swear!

    1. Oh right, just checked back the article… I got roasted for saying bets on RLC getting injured. I’m here to collect from Eddie, Savio and…. well I don’t even bother with the last one.
