CorSport: Milan ‘not convinced’ by Fullkrug opportunity despite Premier League exit

With AC Milan needing a striker, there are a few obvious options that could be tried for, and the most straightforward may be Niclas Fullkrug.

When he was leaving Germany, there was a lot that pointed in the direction of Milan signing Fullkrug. They were in the market for a striker and wanted a more physical option than what was available to them at the time.

However, Tammy Abraham arrived instead, with the target man heading to West Ham instead. It has not worked out for him, though.

No to Fullkrug

Since moving to the Premier League, he has scored only three times – all of which came last season – and this season he has struggled to make an impact for Graham Potter or Nuno. So, an exit seems almost definite.

His agent stated that the move can be viewed as a mistake now, and perhaps part of him wishes that he had moved to Italy when there was interest.

With the Rossoneri now looking for a physical striker themselves, Fullkrug ticks a lot of boxes on paper. Yet, it seems that he does not hold much chance of moving to San Siro, despite being offered to the club.

As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes, the club are not convinced about him ‘from a technical standpoint’, so a move seems unlikely.

  1. Honestly, best option is Sorloth! He is a complete CF, ideal for Serie A. If Mateta doesnt extend with Palace, he would be a good option at end of season.

    1. True, but i dont see us going for them until summer. Fullkrug would be fine to get on a 6month loan til the end of the season, so we have a big #9 to hold the ball up

    2. No, thanks. Both are unconvincing ageing flops, that had more failed seasons throughout career, than the successful ones.

  2. Why No? Just sign him on a 6month loan to get us to Summer, its that simple. We have literally no striker rn, andthe ownership already said they’re too cheap to go for anyone big in January. We need a target man like Giroud, and Fullkrug in a brief loan is a lot better than making another cheap Moncada signing who will fail miserably and be a waste of money yet again. We need an actual #9, and Fullkrug wants minutes before the world cup. A short term loan makes sense for both parties. And then we can go in for a permanent striker in the summer

    1. This is exactly the cheap signing who will fail miserably & be a waste of money.

Some random german woodcutter from 2nd bundesliga. What are we even talking about here.

    1. I suggest watching Zirkzee play in Serie A. Fullkrig is very slow and limited technically. Zirkzee would compliment our attack perfectly.

  3. Moise Kean is the men we need in Allegri formation and style of play. Sorloth is very good too but the age and trasfer fee is not feasible for us. Icardi can be a good option for 2 years till Camarda will grow if he come cheap.
