AS: Milan one step away from signing Luis Suarez on a free transfer

By Oliver Fisher -

A story has emerged from Spain claiming that AC Milan are close to signing Luis Suarez on a free transfer, though Monza are also apparently keen.

As per a report from Diario AS, Milan are ‘one step away’ from signing Suárez, but Silvio Berlusconi’s Monza are trying to convince him too. The figure of €4m net for one season is quotes as being the price for the veteran striker, in addition to several bonuses with additional income thanks to the image rights.

Agent Marco Kirdemir – who has good relations with Spanish players or those who have passed through Spain – made some interesting revelations regarding the future of the Uruguay international.

“I bring offers to Suárez. Therefore, I am in constant communication with him, I know what kind of offers he receives. Fenerbahce have contacted Suárez directly. They offered 6 million euros, but Suárez rejected this offer,” he said.

“He wants to play in Italy. There are two offers. One came from AC Monza. From there he received an offer of 4 million euros. But since the image value is high, there will be some image deals. His salary will increase.”

  1. Poor signing, will only decline from now on. When we where on the good track we now buy a 35 year old with a salary that Leao wants even more

  2. Even at 35 Luis Suarez can score in his sleep. Wouldn’t pay him 4 mil but I would definitely take him.
Origi has some kind of lingering injury and we don’t know when he’ll be ready to play.
Ibra is 41, won’t be back from knee surgery till new years and who knows how he’ll look.
So that only leaves us with Giroud, who is 36 and can’t play every 3 days in a packed season because of a silly decision by FIFA to schedule a WC in Nov-Dec.
    We can use another striker

  3. Too bad we’re getting this guy at 35. I don’t know how true this news is because I think it’s more logical to sign Belotti but then I’m no journalist. Hope this isn’t one of them yellow journalism we see every once in a while.

      1. At 35 I don’t think so, Suarez at his prime yes, but Suarez in decline apsolutly no. That’s why Turkish clubs and Monza want him and not major clubs. In top 5 leagues he has left few good games, nothing more.

  4. Beloti rejected all, still waiting for Milan, Beloti is proven in Seria A, and Suarez is finished, we have Ibra and Giroud no need for one more old attacker.

  5. We need someone who doesn’t bite opponents. So Suarez is a no-go.

Belotti is the way to go if a free-transfer striker is needed.
