CorSport: ‘Milan’s only option’ – Fullkrug stands alone as Tare seeks reinforcements

Santiago Gimenez is injured and Christopher Nkunku is struggling, so AC Milan are left with two goal scorers. More are needed, quite frankly.

Nkunku’s time is running out and it seems like he will only get a few more chances to impress Massimiliano Allegri, who never requested his arrival in the summer. The same can also be said for Gimenez, but he is a long way away, physically and also metaphorically.

Milan, then, are left needing other options, especially with their only two capable options struggling with injuries at a fairly regular rate.

The only one

Joshua Zirkzee has been mentioned, but it seems increasingly likely that Niclas Fullkrug is the player to arrive in Milano. As Corriere dello Sport write, due to his characteristics, and probably more importantly, low valuation, he is the ‘only option’.

The German, as MilanPress relays, is the only player of that ilk that would fit the bill in terms of requirements. Additionally, the Rossoneri do not have interest in making a major investment next month, as they did last season.

They believe that Fullkrug can return to his previous level in Serie A, and with an official offer sent today, it could be wrapped up fairly quickly.

    1. And if he doesn’t work out they can always sign another striker, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another……like they’ve done every season for the past 20.

        1. They’ve got 4 already including 2 signed in the last 12 months, and two MVPs from the previous seasons.

          What more do people want?

This is just people endlessly calling for transfers. It for footballing reasons but because they want a new shiny thing for Christmas.

    2. He fits the requirements? I wonder what the requirement is because scoring goals isnt one of them. To your point, he’s big, strong, physical. Maybe it does work. Hope it is a loan though

    1. There are quite a few better options out there and Zapata’s one of them.. I’d also bring Benzema who’s at the end of his contract back to Europe in a heartbeat over this dude…

  1. Much rather take a chance on Gabriel Jesus. Arsenal would part with him if we offer him enough in wages. Gotta spend a little money if you want to win this scudetto.

    1. He’s short and injury prone. The January signing is just another body. In the summer Vlahovic and maybe even Lewandowski as well will arrive.

  2. I still don’t get it.
    What’s so good about him?
HIs stats are similar to Giroud’s in the few years he played at Chelsea before coming here, but that aside, I cannot see any other similarities.

This guy already feels like a flop signing.
Out-of-Form, doesn’t know the league, hasn’t proven himself proficient in the EPL, the Bundesliga OR on the International stage.

    What’s the point?

    1. The point it’s cheap bro… Milan only play one competition.. remember.. buy new striker ini January, Milan have no money…

  3. Why would we get this declining striker and not go for someone a bit more in form?

Promise David from USG, really good goals per 90, consitent, tall, and young. Wouldnt be too expensive either.

But instead of getting this young striker, we go for Fulkburg????
And PS, I know he plays in Belgium League and its easier to score there – but he scores in champions league and also against good national teams for Canada.

  4. Ragazzi, chill, he is only coming for 6 months. The management does not want to spend a lot of money in this winter, they will for sure sign a proper striker in summer, but for now, we will get Fullkrug. Otherwise, at least he has different characteristics than what we have in the team. And if a miracle happens and he scores a lot of goals and can always keep him for a low price and sign somebody else in summer who will be the main striker and Fullkrug the backup option.
