CM: Milan optimistic about closing deal with Lille for No.1 summer target

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are confident that they can reach an agreement with Lille and complete the signing of Sven Botman, according to a report.

Milan have been extensively linked with a move for Botman over the past few weeks, in fact since before the January transfer window when it became clear that the club were in the market for a new centre-back after Simon Kjaer’s season-ending injury.

Calciomercato.com reports that Milan have clear ideas regarding whom they want to sign in the summer having failed to bring anyone in during the winter transfer market, and it is Botman. He impressed during Lille’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Champions League in midweek, with the 22-year-old putting in a solid shift at the back.

He is the first name on the wish list and there is confidence filtering regarding the outcome of the operation, because Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are convinced that they can successfully close the deal with Lille.
