GdS: Milan monitoring Morocco’s World Cup midfield star and Montpellier striker

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan had their eye on two players who excelled for Morocco in their amazing run to the semi-finals of the World Cup, according to Carlo Laudisa.

The Gazzetta dello Sport journalist spoke on Carlo Pellegatti’s YouTube channel (via PianetaMilan) about the World Cup and how it might impact the plans of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara in view of January and next summer.

One of the talents who showed his capabilities was the 21-year-old midfielder Azzedine Ounahi who currently plays for French club Angers. His performances have attracted the attention of many, including Milan who are monitoring him now.

He is a player that combined a high work rate with technical quality and he ‘could leave for an affordable price’ as per Laudisa, so it is a situation worth watching out for.

Another player that Milan are keeping tabs on is Elye Wahi of Montpellier. He is having an excellent season in Ligue 1 with 6 goals in 14 games, and Laudisa states that these are two options more for the summer, although obviously the scenarios could change in the coming weeks.

  1. Mac Allister is expensive because of PL market, Ounahi fits Milan both in financial and sports strategies. If not we will have the same titles in 2024 like what is happening about Enzo Fernandez and J Alvarez who ended up moving somewhere else while we had budget to snatch them but acted with delay tactics
