GdS: Milan picking from five directors as Leverkusen mastermind joins list

Credit: Bayer Leverkusen

The sporting director decision is no closer to being made it seems, as AC Milan have, this week, added a new candidate to their shortlist.

In the past few weeks, there have been several names flying around the picture, as Milan look to rebuild the management as well as the team. So, the decision must be considered carefully, considering the stakes of the rebuild and what the chosen candidate will be thrown into.

The Rossoneri’s project, despite it being overly frustrating, is a really exciting one on the face of it. A chance to rebuild one of the biggest clubs in the world whilst also working with some elite talents. For many, it would be a no-brainer decision.

This is why the right candidate must be carefully considered, and it seems that there has already been a switch, with Igli Tare’s seemingly destined arrival not as guaranteed as it once was.

As Gazzetta dello Sport write, the Albanian is still in the mix for becoming the sporting director, as are Fabio Paratici, Markus Kroesche and Thiago Scuro. However, Kim Falkenberg – the man behind Bayer Leverkusen’s recent success – has now joined the list. However, it seems the duo with Italian experience still leads the race.

  1. Igli Tare is my choice. Good track-record (except for Muriqi, who btw. is excelling at Mallorca), strong personality, and capable of composing a team.

  2. We just have to get it right this time by getting one with proven track record and experience. Enough with hiring former players with zero track records and experience.

    1. Paolo Maldini did great. Won the league and semifinalist of the Champions League in a short time.

Biggest mistake was getting rid of him. The fallout of team performace was due to Pioli not Maldini.

      1. I never mentioned Maldini buddy, rest.
We have hired at least two former players as Directors so far, go ahead and take a bullet for Maldini.

I guess you think you love Maldini more than me, but until you can have a liberal conversation about someone you love, you ain’t near maturity yet.

Until you accept that as a human you can be good and bad at thesame time, then you’re living a life of falasy.
You can be a good cook and a bad dancer, being a good cook doesn’t cover for being a bad dancer, and until you improve your dancing skills, you will be regarded as a terrible dancer.

That’s the Maldini story. But he’s Italian, so he’s perfect. Zlatan can be bashed.

Why am I wasting my time on this conversation. Enjoy!
