CM: Milan’s position on Ziyech move explained as player makes his desire clear

By Oliver Fisher -

A lot of the attention over the last few days has been on Charles De Ketelaere’s arrival, and subsequently the Hakim Ziyech rumours have quietened down a bit.

According to Calciomercato.com, the signing of De Ketelaere does not necessarily exclude the chances of Ziyech arriving too but the chances of seeing both arrive have shrunk over time. The Chelsea winger changed his representatives and likes the idea of joining Milan, but there are at least two obstacles to overcome.

The first is the operation itself, because Ziyech could only arrive via a loan formula with an option to buy. Regarding salary, the Moroccan would be willing to try and work something out with Milan but a little help from Chelsea is still needed, because the bulk of the budget was invested in De Ketelaere.

Then there is the issue of whether a gap in the squad is actually present. Junior Messias has been in good scoring form in preseason while Alexis Saelemaekers is also present and De Ketelaere can also play on the right if needed, so there are question marks about whether that role is actually full.

However, Maldini knows that you can never say no to quality, so if the resources allow it and the opportunity presents itself – likely in the second half of August – Milan will certainly give it a try.

      1. Clubs who use 3 CBs is perfect for Saelemaekers playing-style. They need defensive wingers.
For example, Inter Milan with Dumfries, Chelsea with Reece James, Tottenham, etc.

In 3 CBs tactic, Saelemaekers might reach Acraff Hakimi’s level.

  1. Would be great to sign him. The upcoming season will be tough with a tight calendar. And our medical team always struggles with their job.
I don’t want us to stuck out of good players right in the middle of the season as we did many years in a row.

  2. At this stage i reckon we might have to play calabria or florenzi in central midfield with whats no luck in the market. Not sure if florenzi can play there but calabria has proven he can..

  3. Any club that plays 3-5-2 and has a worse RWB that Saelemaekers. There are a few. 10-15m would be a good return for him and could help finance the Ziyech move.

  4. Imposible for ziyech to come unless AC Milan can loan/sell lord saladmaker but which club want to buy lord saladmaker that poor at crossing ,have no speed, poor at finishing ,bad at cut inside? Lord saladmaker will stay until his contract expire
