Milan Primavera 0-0 Roma: Rossoneri miss chance to overtake in stalemate

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s Primavera side failed to score against Roma at home and they were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw this afternoon at the PUMA House of Football.

Roma came into the game as the second-placed side in the Primavera 1 behind leaders Inter, but a win for Milan would have seen them leapfrog the side from the capital given the two-point gap in the standings.

Nonetheless, the two sides played out a goalless draw with the main chances failing to Alexander Simmelhack and Davide Bartesaghi in the first half, then the latter in the second half too.

There was a special spectator at the PUMA House of Football as Zlatan Ibrahimovic – the Senior Advisor of RedBird and Milan – was present in the stands. His son Maximilian was on the bench, but he did not end up coming on.

The result means that Ignazio Abate’s side have now gone three games in a row without a win in the league, but it must be said that the squad available to the coach has been depleted by the first team call-ups.

Nezt up for the Rossoneri is a trip to face Cagliari away from home on Saturday 3 February at 14:30 CET.
