One of the players on AC Milan’s list of alternatives to Sven Botman is William Saliba of Arsenal, but they may have to chalk him off too.
Milan are still looking for a central defender despite missing out on Botman who has chosen to join cash-rich Newcastle United from Lille as per virtually every major source. Now, there is some doubt about whether the Rossoneri will still make a sizeable investment in a new centre-back or whether they will go for a low-cost solution.
According to Calciomercato.com, Saliba of Arsenal is among the options considered by Milan to reinforce their rearguard after the Botman disappointment. He had a positive season on loan at Olympique Marseille, which has caught their eye.
However, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have been knocked back in their pursuit of the France international too because the will of the Gunners is to keep hold of Saliba unless they get an irrefutable offer.
