Tuttosport: Milan targeting RC Lens striker as potential replacement for Ibrahimovic

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are in the market for a new centre-forward who could lead the line in the future and they are interested in a Belgian striker, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), and Paolo Maldini are monitoring many young profiles as their intention is seemingly to invest in a player who could front the attack for many years to come.

The latest name in their orbit is Lois Openda, and the paper even mentions that the Rossoneri have been following him since his days at Club Brugge in 2019. He scored 37 goals in 88 games for Vitesse Arnhem and is currently at RC Lens in Ligue 1, where he has netted 7 goals in 15 appearances.

Milan could target him as Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s heir in the coming transfer windows, given that Chelsea’s Armando Broja has now disappeared for the time being as a target given his serious knee injury.

    1. Exactly Vero. This is our strategy.

Sometimes it works (eg Kalulu) but sometimes it means we miss out on the slightly more expensive but way better targets. Like Enzo Fernández

I thought the advent of Redbird would mean slightly more revenues and hence slightly increased transfer budget but maybe I’m hoping for too much too soon
