GdS: Milan ready January bid worth €15m for Chelsea man starring at the World Cup

AC Milan are readying an attempt to sign Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech on an initial loan deal with an option to buy, according to a report.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan followed both Charles De Ketelaere and Hachim Ziyech for a long time during the most recent summer transfer window, but in the end they decided to go all-in on the Belgian attacking midfielder.

Despite this, their interest in signing Ziyech has not gone away as he is having an excellent World Cup with Morocco and will face Rafael Leao’s Portugal in the quarter-finals on Saturday. The Rossoneri – also given the difficulties of De Ketelaere – would like to add further quality to their attacking department.

Milan are now carefully evaluating the possibility of making a new attempt in January, with the following formula in mind: a paid loan that has an option to buy set at €15m valid for the summer 2023 mercato.

The player would however have to reduce his salary because the Rossoneri cannot give him the €6m net salary he now earns in London, but they could go as far €4-4.5m and take advantage of the Growth Decree.

At Milanello, Ziyech would reunite with Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud again, two players who were reborn in the Rossoneri after ending up on the sidelines at Chelsea.
