El Chiringuito: Milan join Arsenal and Liverpool in pursuit of Real Madrid playmaker with uncertain future

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are watching the situation surrounding Marco Asensio closely as he has rejected a contract offer from Real Madrid, a report claims.

According to what Eduardo Inda told El Chiringuito (via okdiario), Asensio’s future at Real Madrid is unclear because his contract ends in 2023 and although the club has offered him a renewal at the current €4.5m net per season plus bonuses taking it to around €6m, he is not convinced by the proposal.

Arsenal and Liverpool are willing to offer him a higher sum than what Los Blancos would give him, which has made the player think about his future as the offer from the two Premier League teams exceed Real Madrid’s by 50% and are around €7m per year.

Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Milan and Juventus are also watching things closely, waiting for news regarding his situation. Despite the fact he has scored nine goals in all competitions this season, the potential signings of Kylian Mbappé and/or Erling Haaland reduces both the salary margin and Asensio’s chances of playing time next year.

Paris Saint-Germain are also after Asensio because they know they would need to reinforce his attack in the event that Mbappé leaves.
