GdS: Why Milan remain financially stable despite imminent 2025-26 ‘revenue collapse’

AC Milan’s financial situation remains healthy, but a challenging 2025-26 awaits without any revenues from European football.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) has a ‘focus’ on the economic situation of each of the top Serie A clubs. The RedBird Capital-owned Milan have posted two consecutive profit-making financial statements, which means they are on the right path.

Owner Gerry Cardinale injected €55m, but only to finance stadium projects, not to support the club’s management. Over the past two seasons, the healthy finances and the cash left by Elliott had allowed for investments of over €100m annually.

If Sandro Tonali’s capital gain (€48m) was crucial to the club’s profit in 2023-24, Tijjani Reijnders’ will be crucial in closing the 2024-25 season in the black. Next season, the Rossoneri will suffer a revenue collapse due to their absence from the cup competitions (-€80m).

The sale of Theo Hernandez will only cover a quarter of the deficit but other players are leaving. Recording a loss for the year as of June 2026, won’t be a problem in itself, given that the club’s net worth exceeds €200m.

The key is maintaining balance, which must not be lost. After the Luka Modric exception, the purchase of 23-year-old Samuele Ricci falls within the type of operations that the American fund are so fond of, because of their value appreciation.

  1. MI GENTE. LES RECOMIENDO GOOGLEAR THE TELEGRAM!!!!! REDBIRD COMPRO EL MEDIO DE COMUNICACIÓN POR 200 MILLONES DE DÓLARES!!!. REDBIRD NOOO ES POBRE!!! NOO ESTÁ EN QUIEBRA!!! SOLO MUCHAS OTRAS PRIORIDADES…. AUN ASÍ FORZA MILAN

  2. Mark my words. Unless the the sole focus from upper management is about winning first and “the books” second, this fiscal problem will worsen.

Winning makes money. Losing, well, you know the rest.

  3. Look at that slimeball, too cowardly to set foot in Milan.
Well it is really very very simple in regards to finances. If the books are in the red, sell our most valuable player.
There is no issue this year which means we will continue as normal, come June 2026, Mark My Words, we will sell whatever Jewels remain.
Pulisic, Leao and perhaps if a new signing like Jashari does well and gets flipped.
So enjoy the season because next June it will all be dismantled again!

  4. I keep saying it over and over again but there are still some donkey Redbird Lovers who either don’t get it or don’t want to accept reality: We are a business for Profit for the investors and NOT a club that wants to win titles. Titles cost big money and we will not spend it.

Why? Because in order to sell for Maximum profit BEFORE the Elliot vendor loan on that 500M becomes due in 2028 – Gerry must show consecutive years in the black and get stadium approval – then he can sell for PROFIT and not take a loss.

Nothing will change that he has said so himself. Yet so many gullible ppl on here still get excited and think he will spend $$ to WIN TITLES. That is NOT the strategy gents. Wake up.

Just pray we get sold to some Arabs by 2028. The rest is just a co€k tease

    1. Problem is for past 2 yrs in the black but no interest from any buyer to buy the club from Redturd. After this year with no interested buyers, Gerry might want to let go with a loss. And he brought that to himself.

  5. You have to invest some in the team to have better returns. Lets hope they sign more players. I’m happy with Allegri, Modric and Ricci… but there needs to be more done.

    1. I’m happy with the signings that u have mentioned and I would personally add Tare as a good signing as well….. the thing is I don’t trust the ownership will give them freedom to operate and they( Tare and Allegri) do need financial backing this window in order to make the team competitive again

      1. Remains to be seen if they do get that. If they manage to sign the two fullbacks and a striker (like Boniface)… then maybe I’ll say… yes, I’ll approve of the overall situation. But we’ll see.

  6. We are joke club now even we have profit a billion. We cant win Parma twice or Genoa at one season,so about what profit they talk 😂😂😂
We cant buy any player for 50m,we go at transfer like idiots who talk about not buying some “key” player because 1 or 2million, so good you make profit and at this moment we disaster play,no one who is good player dont want come here to play for us, supporters every game is less at stadium,we are cant go up from 7 place,Great enjoy ar your profit owners 😂

  7. As in life, was much happier when we were poorer..at least there was ambition, a clear plan to get to an idea of where Milan ought to be. And we saw that glimpse for the first time in a decade. It was beautiful. It felt like we were starting to become Milan of old. And then they got ahead of themselves and dismantled what got them there in the first place. No we’re on a journey to where..?? Who knows. Look at how the club is operating. In fact look at how squad building is being done. That’s not a recipe for sporting success. But we show our financial Scudetto winning trophy each year so I guess it’s all good.

  8. Let’s get ready for another season failure.
Happy to have more time with my family and my grandchildren this season.
    Thank you AC Milan 😀😀
