AC Milan are still expected to complete a double swoop for Lille duo Renato Sanches and Sven Botman despite the competition, a report claims.
According to L’Equipe, midfielder Renato Sanches is closing in on a move to the Rossoneri for a fee that will be less than the €20m that Lille were reportedly asking for during the January transfer window.
Although the Portugal international suffered with injuries throughout the 2021-22 campaign, he certainly impressed in their title-winning season in 2020-21 season and should arrive to be the replacement for Franck Kessie.
Botman is also expected to join the Rossoneri but the asking price of €40m is certainly a steep one, something which has allowed Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain to re-enter the race to sign the Dutchman.
The report mentions that Lille are looking to keep both Jonathan David and Amadou Onana, implying that the double sale of Botman and Sanches will be a necessary sacrifice.
