CorSport: Milan in talks with agent Jorge Mendes over €25-30m summer deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are laying some groundwork ahead of the summer transfer window and have held talks with Jorge Mendes over a midfielder, it is claimed.

According to this morning’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive), it seems as though Franck Kessie has decided not to renew his contract with the Rossoneri meaning he will leave in favour of a new experience elsewhere ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Presuming that Kessie does not renew, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will focus on signing a new midfielder and the player at the top of the management’s wish list continues to be Renato Sanches. The Portuguese midfielder has a contract expiring on 30 June 2023 and wants to leave Lille, with a figure of €25-30m needed to beat competition from the Premier League.

The agent of the former Bayern Munich man is Jorge Mendes, who Milan have already held talks with during discussions over the renewal of Rafael Leao. Relations are more than good and there is already great optimism that both negotiations can be successful.
