Tuttosport: Milan on pole to land Kessie’s replacement – total agreement sought ahead of June

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are aware that they will likely have to replace Franck Kessie once the season ends, and the first name on the list to replace him is reportedly becoming more likely to join.

According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), any optimism that the Ivorian might extend his contract with the Rossoneri has now virtually evaporated and the name that is No.1 priority to replace him is that of Renato Sanches.

The Lille midfielder is admired by the Rossoneri management, so much so that they even tried to sign him in the winter transfer window last mont but they were unable to get a deal over the line because of the time that was left in the window.

Despite this, there is optimism filtering regarding the negotiations and Milan feel that they are on pole for the Portuguese international. In the coming weeks Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will continue negotiations with both Lille and the player to try and wrap up a full agreement ahead of June.
