PM: Milan believe Roma’s Zaniolo would be a perfect fit – the outcome of their first enquiry

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have begun talks with the entourage of Nicolo Zaniolo to see if a summer attempt would be feasible, according to a report.

According to PianetaMilan, Zaniolo could leave Roma before the 2022-23 season and the Rossoneri are keen on landing him, though it would be a ‘very difficult negotiation’ for a number of reasons.

Milan enquired about Zaniolo in talks Roma in recent weeks and the response from the Giallorossi was that they would not consider selling unless an offer of around €40-45m arrived, a figure which Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have no intention of spending.

However, things could change quickly in the coming months given that his deal is expiring in 2024 and it is not currently a formality that he will renew. The winger fits perfectly into the line of players wanted by Elliott Management and he has a salary that is absolutely within the parameters imposed too.

The feeling is that the former Inter academy man could grow further under the guidance of Stefano Pioli, and the Nerazzurri would receive 15% of any proceeds from a future sale too.

    1. LOL. What a load of BS. Zaniolo has done nothing to deserve that pricetag – or even a call-up to the Azzurri. Waaaaaaaaay overrated.
