CM: Juventus join Lazio in pursuit of Milan defender with offer expected soon

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli is attracting interest from two Serie A rivals who are looking to swoop him on a free transfer, a report claims.

When he arrived at Milan all the way back in 2015 for a fee of €25million, Romagnoli was instantly shackled with a reputation as a player who could become a mainstay of the defence for the next decade given how promising he had been with Sampdoria.

Indeed, he got the captain’s armband and has been a leader throughout the last few seasons, but his contract has just a few months left to run and he is gathering interest from some clubs who are sensing an opportunity.

According to Calciomercato.com, Lazio are trying hard to sign Romagnoli who is a boyhood fan of the club despite his past at Roman. However, Juve have been after him for some time too, and the hypothesis of an exchange with Federico Bernardeschi was talked about last summer.

Now Juve are studying the new situation and it is believed that the Bianconeri will table an offer to Romagnoli in a bid to add him to their squad ahead of next season.
