AC Milan have offered captain Alessio Romagnoli a new contract but Lazio have also opened talks with him, according to a report.
Speaking to Sky (via MilanNews), Gianluca Di Marzio gave an update on the contractual situation of Romagnoli, confirming that the salary he currently earns as part of the extension he signed back in 2017 is not a figure that the Rossoneri management are happy for him to keep.
That is why Milan have made him an offer that involves a pay cut, but it must be noted that the Italian centre-back will soon be able to join another club on a free transfer soon. To this effect, Di Marzio adds that Lazio are speaking concretely with the player, though there are no signatures yet.
Romagnoli is a boyhood Lazio fan despite coming through the youth system of their rivals Roma, the club from whom he joined Milan back in 2015.
