AC Milan are interested in signing Riyad Mahrez from Manchester City and though a deal will be difficult it is not yet impossible, a report claims.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) confirm that Milan are interested in signing Domenico Berardi from Sassuolo but they do not intend to offer the amount requested by the Neroverdi. If they are to make a big investment, they are more likely to turn to a bigger name player.
The paper hypothesises that Milan could decide to focus on an internationally-known winger like Riyad Mahrez, who has already been linked with the Rossoneri in recent weeks.
The Algerian is 31 years old and has experience playing in the biggest tournaments. He is even the top scorer for Manchester City this season as he has scored 24 goals and added 9 assists in 44 matches.
His contract with Manchester City expires in June 2023 and without a renewal he will leave in the next summer transfer market. However, Pep Guardiola has a high esteem for Mahrez and it will not be easy for Maldini and Massara, who must instead wait to see how the renewal talks – if there are any – proceed.
