AC Milan are planning how their squad will look for the 2022-23 season and they have an eye on the composition of the team, a report claims.
La Gazzetta dello Sport calls it the ‘Italian factor’ that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara must keep in mind when they are constructing the Milan squad for next season. In addition to boosting the level of the team, they must respect the parameters of the squad lists for Serie A and for the Champions League.
Of the 25 players who can take the field in the two competitions, 4 must have an Italian passport and another 4 must have come through the Rossoneri’s academy. The directors will take this aspect into consideration during the summer window.
The paper adds that it could mean players like Domenico Berardi and Gianluca Scammaca of Sassuolo become concrete targets, while it also raises the chances of Tommaso Pobega returning to stay after his loan at Torino.
