AC Milan have rekindled their interest in signing defender Malick Thiaw from Schalke 04 before the window closes, a report claims.
Milan are yet to sign a new centre-back after Alessio Romagnoli’s farewell on a free transfer to Lazio which puts pressure on the current starting pairing of Pierre Kalulu and Fikayo Tomori while there are doubts about the physical strength of Simon Kjaer and the future Matteo Gabbia, who wants a loan.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) writes that Milan talked to Tottenham for Japhet Tanganga but there is a difference on the formula that meant that so far an agreement has not been reached between the clubs.
That is why Milan have reignited their interest in Malick Thiaw of Schalke 04. He could become the right name in the last few days of market having been extensively linked before.
The German U21 international made 31 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga last season, helping Schalke get promoted back to the top flight.
