AC Milan appear to have missed out on two of their major midfield targets meaning that they will now have to change objective, a report claims.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes how Milan will have to change their target for the midfield where they are still looking for Franck Kessie’s replacement, as two of their targets are now destined to go elsewhere.
Renato Sanches will go to PSG who has reached an agreement with Lille at €15m, while Chelsea announced on Twitter that they and Aston Villa and have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of Carney Chukwuemeka who was the alternative.
The paper reports that now the Rossoneri are expected to now turn to Pape Matar Sarr of Spurs. The 19-year-old signed from FC Metz last summer and was loaned back to the French club for the season, and he is a player that Milan scouts have had an eye on.
Thank God. Don’t get me wrong Sanchez is good when healthy, but he had his mind set on PSG. M&M wasted quite a bit of time on the chase, but there’s still plenty for younger and healthier prospects. 💀Hopefully there’s not another article that says how we’re “not giving up on Sanchez”. I want this saga to be over and move to targets that value winning and are passionate towards the game.

Milan lost Kessie. Over the last 5 years he was a guarantee in that midfield . 1 of the best in his role. He cleaned up a lot of mistakes. He is gone.
Tonali looked good most of the season, but he played next to Kessie. We’ll see how he’ll perform now being the man.
Bennacer is very up & down, in & out. Very inconsistent in his 3 years at Milan and fitness has been an issue as well.
Krunic looked good only when he played as a defensive n10. He doesn’t have the speed nor the quick change of direction to play in double pivot.
Pobega is basically Italian Krunic.
Bakayoko doesn’t look like a professional player.
And No Adli cannot play in double pivot. He isn’t physically strong enough to play there, at least not yet.

He said 2-3 IMPORTANT signings, not just 2-3 signings.

Important player means big player, someone that immediately makes the team better, someone that will be a starter.
We still need back ups. Romagnoli hasn’t been replaced yet, and also the big hole left by Kessie leaving hasn’t been filled yet.

Everyone who push Sanches as Kessie’s replacement are delusional. Renato is not DM, he is CM/AM/RM. He is not pivot, he is mezzala. The only place he is suitable in 4-2-3-1 is in AM which is already covered by Adli and CDK. He never managed more than 25 league games in a season. He never manage more than 1905 league minutes (equivalent to around 22 games) in a season.
There is a reason why Maldini never really push for him. Everything was media speculation.

Kessie is the first & top Midfield choice for Pioli,
he is acting several key role last season.
1) he can hold the ball well
2) he can act as LWB when Theo was up ( one of the tactic Pioli deploy)
3) NOT penalty kicker (well…)
4) Corner tactic when leading (he is the main one to deploy most)
5) his defend skill is much more >>>Bennacer & Tonali

Sanches go to Paris because he will meet his m director and manager in Lille last year. He also will earn higher by PSG than Milan offer. His agent also will get higher bonus from PSG. Lille also will receive the same amount of transfer fee with Milan. So, it’s okay and juat go for another target.
