TMW: Milan strike €4.5m deal for winger despite deadline passing – announcement this week

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will sign Junior Messias on a permanent deal from Crotone after an agreement was reached over a transfer fee, it is claimed.

TMW confirms that Messias will be a Milan player next season despite the fact that Milan did not trigger their option to buy him by 17 June, the day on which it expired. The two clubs continued speaking and an agreement was still found, in a similar way to what happened with Sandro Tonali last year.

The negotiation essentially started from scratch, and the transaction has now been practically defined on the basis of a €4.5m fee plus bonuses related to team and personal objectives.

Not only that, but the official announcement is expected to arrive this week so it could well be that the 31-year-old Brazilian – who scored six goals last season across all competitions – is the first ‘new’ addition of the summer transfer window.

  1. What a waste of money. We’ll never get this back and it all matters. For example offering 18m for sanches v 23m may have been what it needed to seal the deal, etc. He’s also not getting any younger and he won’t be getting better. So far bad sign for our market…..

    1. Yeah. You guys know football better than the management. It doesn’t matter that he contributed to the scudetto. If you don’t remember anything, the assist to Leão for the first goal against Atalanta probably win the scudetto.
