GdS: From Lille trio to €25m-rated winger – Milan’s targets for the summer window

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan preferred not to make a big splash in the January transfer window, but the barrels are locked and loaded ready for the summer mercato.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that there are some names on the wish list for when the season ends starting with Renato Sanches, for whom an attempt was made over the weekend. Milan are a welcome destination for the Portuguese international and the €30m that would have been used for the winter deal will be should drop in June, given that the midfielder’s contract will expire in 2023. He would be Franck Kessie’s replacement.

Then there is Sven Botman, the favourite target for the role of centre-back. There will be competition from Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund to beat but the Leao and Maignan deals show that the Rossoneri could use good relations with Lille.

A third player could arrive from the Ligue 1 club as Jonathan David is liked for the role of centre-forward, but he would cost at least €40m, which is why Alexander Isak of Real Sociedad and Noa Lang of Club Brugge are also targeted, with the latter having a valuation of €25m.

Another name that could make a comeback is Malick Thiaw of Schalke 04, over whom negotiations were held in January but the 2. Bundesliga side would have to drop their demands from €10m. If Alessio Romagnoli leaves on a free transfer, another centre-back in addition to Botman may be needed.

  1. GUYS at SempreMilan!!!!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!! It is getting a pain in the ass to read and follow you, with all the bullshit and whispers and rumours, that have nothing to do with… It is pretty much exhausting, and annoying that you are reacting to every small information, making an article of it, making content without any kind of checking the thruth, saying one day this and the next day totally the opposite.

    1. What are you talking about? :One guy posting news he read elsewhere, what do you think is happening or will happen? He will start travelling and chasing agents and players? 😀

  2. Why wait till June to allow Kessie go for free, when they could have sold him now, n then, add money to get Sanchez. The three players mentioned wld cost Milan almost a 100million euros in June, so I’m not expecting anything from a club dat cannot spend money now to get what they need.

    1. They tried to sell kessie in January to spurs but kessie turned down the offer. Either he wants milan to get nothing or he’s holding out for a better team who can give him more money.
