CM: Milan left surprised and forced to change plans due to will of young striker

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan were looking to loan out young striker Marko Lazetic this summer but now the plans have changed, according to a report.

According to Calciomercato.com, the arrival of Divock Origi to strengthen the attacking department risks reducing the amount of possible playing time – which was already limited – for Lazetic in the senior side.

The Serbian teenage was the protagonist of a good preseason campaign and the feeling is that he is developing well after his first months of adaptation at Milanello.

Despite this, Milan had the plan of sending him out on a dry loan for the 2022-23 season so he could get regular playing time in a senior squad in Italy during what is a crucial phase in his development.

However, the management have been met with the ‘surprising’ choice by Lazetic that he does not want to go out on loan and instead wants to stay and compete for a spot in the rotations. Now, the probability is that he will remain.

  1. We like player with ambition. A young Zlatan would have thought exactly the same. I really liked what I saw in pre-season. Excinting talent.

    1. It’s not a smart choice, and Lazovic is not near the level of a young Zlatan to compete with the other strikers in our team, though I’m the first to hope that I’m wrong.

Also it’s different from playing in training where defenders don’t tackle rough to avoid injuries to teammates, and a regular game where the defender plays dirty and tries every trick to get you to make mistakes.

He can play in Primavera, but the quality of the defenders and GK at Primavera is not even at Serie C level.
He’s betting that two of Rebic, Origi and Giroud will have simultaneous injuries so that he can get play time. It’s not a very bad bet considering the injury history, but not a great one either. Maybe corona will change things.

    1. It’s only first match of the season lol. Chill. There’s still 37 matches – and that excluding Cup matches.

Diaz get his chance since he is in the club the longest and arguably know what the coach need from him better – CDK and Adli still in the adapting. And it’s not like Pioli’s choice – or gamble, if you wish – is wrong.

He will get his time, right now he is behind Diaz and CDK in the CAM role.

      1. Actually he contributed to all four goals:
        1) The rebound came off of his shot which lead to the pk.
        2) He freed Calabria to give the cross to Rebic
        3) Goal
        4) Assist to Rebic.

    2. Pioli is training Adli for midfield role. He is having personalised training with special diet to boot so he can gain weight and muscles. The plan is to deputise for Benacer when situation demands. So he may miss several matches.

  2. Adli with all the momentum gathered in the preseason is now on the bench for a loan flop who is actually training himself for Madrid……welldone milan

    1. Good thing Pioli is the coach, NOT you. Because with your logic, players who plays bad doesn’t deserve a second chance and should sit at the bench for the rest of the season.

    2. Comment maybe free but please dont show your stupidity too infront of public. That 3 goal brahim involved from winning in1st match is that for real madrid? We use the player that are ready to play & contribute not player that spectator want . Dont forget we still have brahim buy option

    3. Milan has an option to buy. Diaz was involved in all 4 goals. Should those goals be invalidated as his parent club is RM? If Locatelli scores for Juve, do they count as he’s still on loan? How about Lukaku’s goals for Inter?

      1. I bet Inter fans are REALLY hating the management for bringing in Lukaku to eat their own players playing time and ruining their development.

  3. There are a lot of remaining games all players will get minutes, we fill in a strong squad for strong opponents I’m sure when we facing weaker sides they will play, the coach knows what he is doing
