CM: Spurs holding onto defender until Monday as Milan begin negotiating over €25m fee

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Spurs remain in talks over a potential loan deal for centre-back Japhet Tanganga and next week will be decisive, a report claims.

Milan have been linked with virtually every centre-back under the sun since the start of the window from Sven Botman and Bremer to Eric Bailly and Nathan Ake passing through names such as Attila Szalai and Abdou Diallo, but at the moment Tanganga is the man attracting the most interest.

According to the latest from Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Spurs ‘will not let him go’ until Monday, presumably because they have an important game away at Leicester tonight and an even bigger clash against rivals Chelsea on Sunday.

Milan are talking to Tottenham about a loan deal but the London club would like guarantees on the figure of obligation to buy. The current asking price is about €25m but it can be negotiated given that the player does not seem to be a huge part of Antonio Conte’s plans.

  1. Man, this desperation to sign a defender who can’t help us against Juve and Inter, and who will be on the bench after that (when Tomori returns) will ruin the chance to get the right one in the summer. Just wait for Botman in the summer. We need some Dutch representation in the squad!
