Tuttosport: Milan tempted by Vasco da Gama talent amid contract uncertainty

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are evaluating various profiles ahead of the summer window and one of them is Marlon Gomes of Vasco da Gama, a report claims.

It was reported by UOL Esporte in Brazil earlier in the week Milan have Marlon Gomes on their list of potential signings having closely followed his performance with the Brazilian national team at the U20 South American Championship, with talks having already been held.

Now, Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) report that Gomes is a player that the management are admirers of, and with his contract expiring in 2024 they sense an opportunity for a cut-price deal.

In recent weeks the 19-year-old was offered a renewal to avoid the risk of him leaving for free but so far he has not signed anything, though the Rossoneri’s interest is described as ‘lukewarm’ at the moment.

Gomes broke into the first team last year at the age of 19, making 18 appearances, scoring two goals and adding two assists mostly as a box-to-box midfielder.

  1. He is insanely good as a box to box + playmaker. We should sign him straight up and see how he pans out. Shouldn’t take a massive investment and our middle of the park can use some quality.

  2. If he join with a cut price deal ala Adli (less than €10m) pioli will never gonna field him cos “he needs more time to adapt.”😅
