Milan to face Modena in second summer friendly – the starting XI and where to watch

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are set to face Modena in their second friendly of the summer, and Stefano Pioli has named his starting line-up.

Milan kicked off their 2021 summer preseason campaign with a 6-0 win over Pro Sesto on Saturday, with Ismael Bennacer, Rafael Leao, Samu Castillejo, an own-goal and a Milos Kerkez brace proving too much for the Serie C side.

Milan and Modena will take the field for a friendly today at Milanello at 17:00 CEST. The match will be visible on the official channels of the Rossoneri – including the app – and on Sky Sport.

Pioli has named the starting XI that he will use for the game. with Tatarusanu in goal protected by a back four of Matteo Gabbia, Fikayo Tomori, Alessio Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez. Pioli has had to make virtue of necessity with no right-backs available (Calabria is recovering from surgery and Kalulu is at the Olympics) while Maignan is on his post-Euros holiday.

Bennacer and Tonali are the double pivot in midfield with Kessie at the Olympics too, while Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz and Rade Krunic are the trident behind Rafael Leao.

    1. Every body says Hauge, but pioli said Krunic much better… Sucks pioli…..
Soon pioli’s over then krunic and samu castilejo gone with the wind

  1. Why keep starting Leao as a striker? Why play Krunic on the wing… wow we’re in for a long and painful season if Pioli thinks this is good. Such a bad coach…

Please put Leao in a position for him to do well like on the wing, he’s not a striker!
