Tuttosport: Track cools for Milan as Eintracht Frankfurt defender’s plan emerges

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been linked with a move for Evan N’Dicka over the past couple of weeks but it seems the pursuit has ended for this summer at least.

Bild (via MilanNews) reported last week that there was a video call between Paolo Maldini and N’Dicka during which a potential move to Italy was discussed. Then, Christopher Michel of Sport1 was asked about the possibility of the Frenchman ending up at Milan on Twitter and he replied with the following: “It’s getting hotter… The chances that he will move to Milan are not small.”

According to a report from Tuttosport (via MilanNews) this morning, N’Dicka is now expected to stay at Eintracht Frankfurt for the 2022-23 season and then he will leave the Bundesliga club on a free transfer at the end of next season when his contract expires.

Whether Milan might be interested in picking him up on a free is not mentioned in the article, but given the need to get in a new centre-back before the current window shuts it is now very likely that they will turn to an alternative target.

  1. Yeah problem is it’ll be a no brainer for a few clubs, and when mid table EPL clubs can offer huge agent commissions, and salaries, it becomes difficult to compete.

In the meantime we still need a CB at least to cover when Gabbia is sold. I don’t rate Diallo much but if we bring him in on a cheap loan (with no guarantee of appearances, or obligation to buy) then that’s probably our best option. At least he can cover at LB, so we could offload Ballo Toure to bring in some funds.

Am thinking the board will wait til Dec, just like last year, to see if we’re still in the UCL. If so it may justify expenditure in say, a cut price Ziyech, or even N’Dicka brought in early for a small fee.

    1. Exactly @Krayson. Same thing will happen with N’Dicka as with our other targets we thought we could get on a free. Other clubs will simply offer more in terms of salary to the player and we will lose out due to our wage cap. We’ve seen this story before. On to the next
