TMW: Milan look at two alternative targets with Hojlund’s price now too high

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan feel that they have already been priced out in their pursuit of Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund and thus are evaluating alternatives, a report claims.

According to Niccolò Ceccarini’s latest update for TMW, Milan are looking to sign a striker ahead of next season and Hojlund’s valuation is now already out of reach, so the spotlight has turned to a couple of alternative targets.

The first is Noah Okafor of Red Bull Salzburg who scored against Milan in the Champions League group stages and has netted 10 times this season, while the second is Lois Openda from RC Lens who has nine goals in the current campaign.

With Olivier Giroud to hit the age of 37 this year and Zlatan Ibrahimovic heading for retirement, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara know that they must invest in a young centre-forward who can alternate with Origi and learn from Giroud, leading the line in the future.

  1. Please don’t. Without a great striker this team will never be great. This guys are fourth or in the best case third category of strikers and we don’t need them and don’t want them.

  2. Then better not to buy either of them and stick with Colombo and Lazetic.
Either buy someone who can ensure 20+ goals, or don’t waste money on it and instead invest on other positions.

  3. Rasmus Hojlund is the kind of player that feats our style right now,

He is strong, direct, active, has a lot of stamina, he loves to make runs from deep and will put less stress on the midfield because he engages the opposition both in midfield and their defence.

Unlike Giroud who is only clinical but he only comes into the game when brought with the inch perfection of the final pass, Hojiund can take the burden off the team.

..Hojlund is more or less like a Chiesa but with less skills than the Italian talent.

  4. LOL. Everyone is too expensive for us. What a disgrace. Agree if we aren’t going to get a 20 plus goal scorer it’s not worth it. The PROBLEM is 20 plus goal PROVEN scorers cost $$$$ and we won’t spend it under these owners. So we are left to spend on unproven cheaper players. Well done Elliot/Redbird. It’s funny those that constantly defend our owners and blame M&M only (BOTH are to blame) – then complain about not being able to sign proven consistent 20 plus goal scorers lol. Well they cost $$$ my friends. And our owners won’t spend it. So that will leave us with Giroud, Origi Columbo and Lazetic for next season. Don’t get your hopes up and expect miracles with these owners. Let’s see if we actually spend money on a stadium of our own now that Inter said they are building their own. We will see. I will believe it when I see it in 2067🤪🤪🤪
