AC Milan have got Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo firmly in their sights and they are willing to make a sizeable offer for him, according to a report.
It is clear that the management need to improve the attack this summer given that the playmaker and the right wing roles are obvious weaknesses at present, and La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) are reporting that Zaniolo is a top target for Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara.
They want to carry out the negotiation as under wraps as possible without any party leaking information that could compromise the deal, so diplomacy is at work, but there is a lot to do because the Giallorossi are currently asking for €65m to sell the Italian.
The Rossoneri do not want to go beyond €40m, which is an offer also including a counterpart (€25m cash plus a player such as Alexis Saelemaekers or Ante Rebic), so now the capital club must open their stance.
This player at the moment doesn’t worth more than 30m euros. Offering Rebic on top it’s a shame.

They also brought us Ballon, Yoko, Assias, Salad, Pellegri, Lazetic, Meïté. It is not an exact science. They are human and make mistakes. Trusting people blindly is stupid. They are not gods, and their decisions should and must be questioned, every single one.
That doesn’t mean they aren’t great at their jobs or that those questioning them don’t trust them to do what is in the best interest of the club. It is not binary, you either support Maldini and don’t question his decisions or you’re against him. There are more options there.
Management has to be held accountable. Accountability is what keeps them in check, what keeps the club on the right path.

Zaniolo is a huge risk/reward type of signing….could either be amazing or a disaster. Not sure we need to make such a gamble now, especially given his injury history. He’s still very young (22) so he has that going for him, but a 60M valuation or 40M AND Rebic – is way to much of a price to pay for him IMO. I trust M&M but I would be scared of this one. For 40M plus Rebic there are a lot of players we can get for the RW. Marhez, Ziyech, Pepe, etc…are older but would cost much less and a player like Antony is dynamic with huge upside – and is also available for much less than what Roma is asking for Zaniolo…Antony would be my pick. We will see but this one scares me
