MN: Milan Women star Asllani receives Kosovan presidential honour

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan Women forward Kosovare Asllani has been honoured by the president of Kosovo for her charitable work in the country.

As has been reported by Milan News, the Swedish international received the Presidential Medal of Merits in Kosovo which is her country of origin.

The award was for her contribution and achievements in sport and for furthering social equality.

Away from the event itself, Asllani also attended a Unicef event and met with young girls who would like to get into the world of sports.

Asllani joined Milan in the summer from Real Madrid and she is regarded as the highest profile player in Serie A Femminile. She has performed well for the Rossonere but the team looks destined to miss out on a place in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Poor form under Maurizio Ganz has left Milan battling for third place with Fiorentina and Inter beneath AS Roma and Juventus.
