CM: Milan working to sign two midfielders with different purposes before January window ends

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are currently working on the signing of two midfielders who will serve different purposes to the squad, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com reports that in the day and a half to go until the end of the winter transfer market session, Milan are still working on various options for the midfield and the defence having reinforced their attack with the signing of 18-year-old stiker Marko Lazetic.

The management are considering concluding the purchase of Tommaso Berti from Cesena, with scouts having been following him with interest since last summer. The Rossoneri could now conclude the deal with the Romagna-based side, having made a bid with the hypothesis of leaving the 17-year-old on loan at Cesena himself until the end of the season. The alternative is to sign him immediately and for him to join the Primavera.

Berti would obviously be a purchase with an eye to the future, but Milan’s market may not be done there and it could even end with a surprise signing, a midfielder ready for the present to immediately reinforce Pioli’s squad.

  1. We absolutely need a AM and a CM. But I think our defence is decimated, Romagnoli and Gabbia are Serie B material, Tomorri out for God knows how much, Kjaer out for the season, and he maybe can play 1 more year.
