Telegraph: Milan and Bayern Munich beaten by Man City to Hungarian ‘wonderkid’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan may have signed highly-rated Serbian prospect Marko Lazetic but they have missed out on a Hungarian teenager to Manchester City, a report claims.

According to the Telegraph’s Mike McGrath, City are expected to win the race for MTK Budapest 17-year-old ‘wonderkid’ Zalán Vancsa, with the Premier League champions ‘on the brink’ of signing him in what would be their first signing of the January window.

A number of other clubs showed an interest in signing Vancsa including Bayern Munich, Milan and Sevilla, while scouts across Europe have watched him ‘extensively’ during the last couple of campaigns.

City are described as having moved ‘swiftly’ to sign Vancsa and beat the competition, and now it seems as though he could remain at MTK Budapest for the rest of the season to help his development. City Football Group have once again beaten other top European clubs to the signing of a big talent.
