CM: Milan divert Botman funds to the attack – the names from Ziyech to Zaniolo

By Oliver Fisher -

Although there are only 4 days left before the expiration of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara’s contracts, they are continuing to plan the summer window with particular focus on the attack.

Calciomercato.com reports that most of the amount that was set aside to sign Sven Botman will be invested in the attack with particular emphasis on the right wing and playmaker roles, and there a few targets standing out above all at the moment.

Marco Asensio remains the hottest name as he is considered the right player to give the Rossoneri attack a jump in quality with his goals, assists and his versatility. The asking price is affordable but the main obstacle is represented by the player’s salary, which is €7m net per season, a figure Milan cannot pay.

In recent days, there was a chat between Roma director Tiago Pinto and Ricky Massara to define the permanent signing of Alessandro Florenzi, and the name of Nicolò Zaniolo popped up. The winger has not renewed with the Giallorossi and is perfect in terms of age and characteristics. He has affordable salary requests, but Roma are asking for €60m which is too much.

Then there is Hakim Ziyech who is leaving Chelsea this summer and has been offered to the Rossoneri management. All of the management like him a lot, but the economic nature of the entire operation is currently an obstacle that can only be overcome with an initial loan (with option or obligation), that Chelsea are not currently open to.

The most affordable profile therefore remains that Noa Lang of Club Brugge who would cost €20m at most. His age and his salary means that he fits perfectly within the club’s parameters but the doubt in this case is technical because he is naturally a left winger, where Rafael Leao and Ante Rebic are currently.

    1. You mean the Opposite of Kaka? Kaka brought Milan goals, assists and trophies. Zaniolo would bring us yellow cards and red cards. And maybe injuries. That’s it.

      1. BB, I think you need to grow up. One of the best Italian talents and you keep writing like he banged your mom. Chill dude, if you can’t see he is a world class talent and already a good player I would suggest you don’t embarras yourself with stupidity. If you don’t like him ok, you don’t have to make up stupid stuff.

        1. LOL. I think it’s you who needs to grow up. You are acting like you know everything and are superior to anyone while your constant crying about the owners is really sad. But hey, what do I care.

With Zaniolo the stats do the talking. He’s vastly overrated. You can see that from the stats AND by looking him on the pitch. If you can’t see that then you need your eyes checked.

  1. Buying player not based on technical or what pioli want, instead just low cost or soft word : fit club parameter. You cannot just sign quality winger & AMF hoping they accept salary 1-2m euro nett, even leao now start asking 7m euro nett. Quality winger or AMF starter should be salary 5-7m euro nett in this modern age for AC Milan

  2. Sign Noa Lang. He is a powerful player even more than Leao, Ibra. Giroud can only be compared to him.

  3. I think our most likely of all of these players is Asensio because Madrid won’t charge us too much and eventually I think Asensio will agree to lower personal salary than $7M and he wants to be a star on a Champions League team (and not stay on Madrid not getting enough minutes).

Roma will insist on too high a transfer fee for Zaniolo and anyway, despite his youth and great potential, I personally think he’s too risky with his multiple serious injuries at this young age. To spend so much money on a player who could be injured again is not a risk I would want to take. Asensio is safer and is great quality and we need help on the right side not left side (i.e., don’t sign Noa Lang).

Lastly, as far as De Ketelaere, I think Leeds will end up snatching him away from us because Arsenal is going to sign Raphinha away from Leeds and they want CDK to replace Raphinha and the PL teams have more money to spend than Serie A teams.
