In the past couple of weeks, there has been talk of Bernard Arnault’s intention to purchase AC Milan. However, despite reports from La Repubblica, the French billionaire has denied interest in the Rossoneri several times, lastly a couple of days ago. But apparently there was another name serious in the acquisition of the club in recent weeks.

According to reports from Milano Finanza (via calcioefinanza.it), the American billionaire Daniel Friedkin, who is now close to completing the acquisiton of Roma, attempted to buy Milan in the last couple of weeks.

The report states that Friedkin attempted the acquisition ‘in extremis’, having dealt directly with the Singer family, the owners of the Elliott hedge fund which owns Milan. The American businessman offered €1 billion for the club but received a negative response from the Singers.

Elliott did not consider the offer fair and thus refused, paving the way for Daniel Friedkin to become the next owner of Roma in the next couple of weeks.
