AC Milan were held to a goalless draw by Cremonese last night as they fell further behind Napoli in the Scudetto race with the attack misfiring again.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) report that at Milanello nobody underestimated yesterday’s match against Cremonese, but no one probably thought that Milan would be impacted so much by absence of Olivier Giroud after he was sent off for getting two yellow cards against Spezia.

In Cremona, the Rossoneri’s attack was completely blocked, as none of those who took the field were able to make the decisive and winning play. The first to have disappointed was Divock Origi, deployed as a centre-forward instead of the Frenchman. He missed a chance in the first half where he was virtually one on one but shot straight at the Cremonese goalkeeper.
For the rest of the game he wasn’t seen much, seeming to be not up to speed with the rhythms and not on a level of understanding with his team-mates. The meagre tally of just one goal in 13 appearances between Serie A and Champions League says so much about his disappointing start to the season.
However, it’s not as if his other team mates did better last night as Ante Rebic – deployed on the left in place of Leao – showed up only for the disallowed Origi goal. Rafael Leao and Charles De Ketelaere came on in the second half and while the Portuguese and the Belgian should have given a shock to the whole team, they too seemed uninspired.
