ML: Milan attentive to opportunity regarding defender who cost Chelsea €35m

By Oliver Fisher -

After negotiating for weeks with Chelsea over the return of Tiemoue Bakayoko, Milan could enter talks over a defender too.

It appears as though Antonio Rudiger has been told that he can leave Chelsea, three years after he joined from Roma in a deal believed to have been around €35m.

Having been left out of the squad to face Liverpool on Sunday, the Daily Mail are reporting that Rudiger has once again been left out of Lampard’s plans for Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup clash against Barnsley, fuelling rumours he could be sold.

The Telegraph are also reporting that the German international is likely to leave before October 5, and MilanLive report how Massara and Maldini could be ready to take advantage of the opportunity.

The former Roma defender has become a fifth choice at Chelsea and could leave on loan, and with Milan’s desperate needs for a defender plus the Blues’ desire to offload him, it could be a perfect match.
