ML: The probable starting line-ups and formations for AC Milan vs. Juventus

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli and Maurizio Sarri have decided on their starting line-ups for Thursday’s Coppa Italia semi-final first leg, a report claims.

For the Rossoneri, they have their eyes on reaching their third final in five years and if they manage to win the trophy, it secures direct qualification for the group stages of the Europa League.

As per MilanLive, Pioli will confirm the 4-2-3-1 formation that saw great success in the first half against Inter. In goal will be Gianluigi Donnarumma, with the only other change in the back four being Davide Calabria coming in for Andrea Conti.

The midfield will see Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer partnered together, with Samuel Castillejo on the right and Ante Rebic on the left. Hakan Calhanoglu will be in behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Juventus will respond with a 4-3-1-2. Between the posts there will be Gianluigi Buffon protected by a back four which includes two ex-Milan players in De Sciglio (right-back) and Leonardo Bonucci (centre-back), as well as Matthjis De Ligt and Alex Sandro.

In midfield Miralem Pjanic will be the regista with Rodrigo Bentancur (ahead of Adrien Rabiot) and Blaise Matuidi either side. Aaron Ramsey will act as the playmaker and will support the two strikers Paulo Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo. Bench for Gonzalo Higuain, barring surprises.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): G. Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez; Kessie, Bennacer; Castillejo, Calhanoglu, Rebic; Ibrahimovic.

Probable Juventus XI (4-3-1-2): Buffon; De Sciglio, De Ligt, Bonucci, Alex Sandro; Bentancur (Rabiot), Pjanic, Matuidi; Ramsey; Dybala, Cristiano Ronaldo.
