MN: Almost all the squad show up at Milanello despite Pioli granting rest day

A number of members of AC Milan’s squad turned up to train today despite it being granted as a day of rest, according to a report.

The Rossoneri took top spot in Group E with a 3-1 win against Dinamo Zagreb at San Siro last night as goals from Olivier Giroud (penalty), Alexis Saelemaekers and Tommaso Pobega were enough to earn a first Champions League home win in over nine years.

MilanNews reports that Pioli had granted the squad a day of rest after last night’s Champions League win, but despite this, almost all the players showed up at Milanello to carry out unloading work and massages.

It is a sign from the squad just how committed they are to continue the momentum that another excellent start to the season has generated. There is also a very important game to begin preparing for, as Napoli – who are also in red hot form – come to San Siro on Sunday.

  1. I see Napoli collecting from… One thing I see in this team is high level of motivation when it comes to big match. Forza Milan per sempre

  2. It will be an exciting match no doubt…..but yes the atmosphere at milanello is serene thanks to pioli……beside coach he is the who really loves to interact with players make them realise and his hands down approach creates family atmosphere……players will die for him and give everything for Milan…this never say die attitude won us champiinship last year…..I still remember how he managed fiorentina side after astori loss thats when I realised how good he is in managing players…..like zlatan said its all in brain get in players brain make them understand rest leave it on them to deliver…

  3. They should learn from the past. Don’t overtrain. It can cause injuries due to overworked muscles. I get the excitement but there’s a reason for rest and stretching.

The year before they did the same and many injuries came while last year they toned it down on the days off …it paid off with a Scudetto

    1. Yep, a rest day should be a rest day. Take a longer nap or just chill playing PS, stretching, getting a massage, and for CDK go shopping in Milan.

  4. The boys needs to take a rest despite they’re excited to get better and better.

I mean, they already played like 6 match in less than two weeks and most matches was pretty intense especially against Inter, Samp, Salzburg, and Zagreb.

They need to reserves their energy against Napoli especially with Leao, Origi, Rebic, and Florenzi absent.
