MN: Calhanoglu and Brahim Diaz likely to miss Bologna – the four solutions Pioli is studying

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will be without Hakan Calhanoglu and Brahim Diaz for Saturday’s trip to face Bologna, so Stefano Pioli is studying the solutions.

According to MilanNews, Calhanoglu is still positive and even if the next test he takes were to be positive the turnaround required means he is very unlikely to start. The problem with the flexor muscle sustained by Diaz is not serious, so the Spaniard could attempt a quick recovery, but again a start is unlikely.

Pioli at the moment is studying different starting line-ups. One of them could be the following: Saelemaekers on the right, Leao as the playmaker and Rebic on the left. Similarly, there is also the possibility of seeing the Croatian behind Ibrahimovic, with Leao in his usual role of left winger.

There are also two other possibilities: the first would seen Krunic as attacking midfielder, the second with Daniel Maldini, both with Leao on the left. Much will depend on the condition of Rebic, who has just returned from Covid as well as Krunic.
