MN: Fonseca factor pushes Milan defender out – Saudi clubs have enquired

By Oliver Fisher -

Alessandro Florenzi’s time at AC Milan could well be coming to a close as he does not seem to be a big part of the plans under the new head coach, a report claims.

It has been widely reported that the Milan management are already looking for new right-back to join the club as one of the priorities this summer, given Paulo Fonseca prefers two full-backs who are attack-minded.

According to what is being reported by MilanNews, Florenzi is expected to leave Milan this summer due to having a less than optimal relationship with Fonseca, the new head coach.

There have been inquiries from other Italian clubs regarding the 33-year-old but also some from Saudi Arabia, and the full-back could be tempted by a move out to the Middle East.

The Italian had some difficult days while at Roma with the Portuguese, which eventually resulted in him leaving his boyhood club to join Valencia and PSG on loan before ending up at Milan.

Florenzi has been a back-up since he joined the Rossoneri yet he was still used in 40 games by Stefano Pioli last season. After the departures of Simon Kjaer and Olivier Giroud, the squad would lose more leadership too.
